Electricidade de Moçambique, E.P (EDM) intends to develop the Manje Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant Project, in the District of Chiúta, Tete Province. The project is part of the Government’s policy and EDM’s strategic objective of achieving universal access to electricity by 2030 and developing renewable energy projects to be connected to the national electricity grid in order to reinforce the availability of energy in the Tete region.
The company Gopa Intec was contracted by EDM to conduct the Environmental and Social Impact Study (EIAS) with a view to obtaining the Project’s environmental licensing (classified as category A).
